4 Terrible Tips on Getting Content Written

Here you are, with a solid online marketing strategy that includes a beautiful SEO-friendly website, a blog, a series of press releases, newsletters, and what not.

And without a clue on how to write content for all that.

Well, you did get an “A” in that English essay 15 years ago, but you feel that will not suffice. Obviously, you need to hire a copywriter and make sure they deliver quality stuff. And that's where it gets interesting.

Many small and new businesses are not very familiar with copywriting and copywriters - or internet marketing for that matter - and that's why their content stinks so often. Want to join the lousy content tribe? Follow these tips.

Terrible Tip №1. Go for the Cheapest.

Browse some freelance websites and look for the cheapest freelance copywriter in the industry. Never mind if their profile is sprinkled with grammar mistakes, spelling errors, and typos - may be they wrote that in a hurry and forgot to proofread. Happens to the best of us.

It’s perfectly ok if the copywriter’s emails/messages sound like they were Google-translated from a rare tribal language: obviously, they didn’t try very hard for a trivial email and will try much harder for your content. Remember: you’ve got the budget to think about.
